A new batch of piglets(12 weeks olds) came this weekend! It's amazing how small they look compared to our giant 5 month olds who are now mammoths!
It was such a pleasure to go through the process of obtaining the piglets, setting up their home and electric fence training pen a second time! We were able to iron out many of the kinks we had the first time. It is nice to feel like we are growing in skill and confidence as time goes by! This time went so nice and smoothly. I feel like even the piglets were more relaxed and trusting then the first batch.
Animals are so intuitive I feel like they reacted differently in part because we were so much more calm and steady! This is one of my favorite things about pigs, they are very intelligent and responsive. Our first batch responds to our calls. Knows when we show up we bring food and treats so we always get lots of grunts when we arrive! They are great with the electric fence and respect their boundaries. I am so excited to see this new batch grow as we keep working on our skills as pig farmers!
Mother of 2 beautiful girls! Our growing family is the largest drive we have to build a life filled with good food and a connection to the land.
